My seven-day trek through Ecuador’s stunning Andes Mountains was an experience I’ll never forget. I hiked through lush cloud forests‚ climbed to the summit of active volcanoes‚ and swam in crystal-clear lakes. The scenery was breathtaking‚ and the people I met along the way were incredibly friendly and welcoming. If you’re looking for an unforgettable adventure‚ I highly recommend hiking in Ecuador.

Planning my trip

I started planning my Ecuador hiking trip about six months in advance. I did a lot of research online and talked to other hikers who had been to Ecuador. I decided to hike the Quilotoa Loop‚ a four-day trek that takes you through the Andes Mountains and past the Quilotoa Crater Lake.

I booked my flights to Quito‚ Ecuador‚ and then started planning my itinerary. I decided to spend two days in Quito before starting my hike‚ and one day in Baños‚ a small town near the Quilotoa Loop trailhead.

I also needed to get a visa for Ecuador. I applied for a tourist visa online and it was approved within a few days.

Once I had my flights and visa sorted out‚ I started packing for my trip. I packed light‚ bringing only the essentials. I also brought a good pair of hiking boots‚ a rain jacket‚ and a water bottle.

I was so excited for my Ecuador hiking trip! I had been dreaming of hiking in the Andes for years‚ and I couldn’t wait to experience the beauty of this amazing country.
