Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers a wide variety of activities and classes for adults ages 18 and up, including technology, home improvement, recreation, athletics, fitness, arts, hobbies and more.
The Adults with Special Needs program (also known as “Project Power”) provides specialized classes for adults with disabilities, offering accommodation services for all program participants.
Adventures Plus is the school-age child care program of the Anoka-Hennepin School District.
Community Education offers a wide range of aquatic opportunities for community members of all ages, including swimming lessons, water exercise, competitive swim training, American Red Cross certification courses, and recreational open swim opportunities.
ECFE offers classes, home visits and programs offer support for families with babies, toddlers, and children up to grade three.
Early Childhood Screening is a FREE developmental screening required for all children age 3-5, by the State of Minnesota prior to entry in kindergarten and some early childhood programs.
Anoka-Hennepin Parent Involvement promotes partnerships, based on the belief that parents are their children’s most important teacher. We offer a wide variety of resources to meet the changing needs and interests of parents and families.
Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers preschool classes, which prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. Our preschool curriculum is aligned with the Anoka-Hennepin Schools kindergarten curriculum.
Community Education provides a wide variety of athletic, academic and enrichment programs at individual elementary, middle and high schools. Activities and classes are offered for children in preschool through grade eight.
Community education coordinates adult athletic leagues.
Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers learning and enrichment opportunities in the water for adults. Whether you want to learn to swim, improve your stroke technique or burn a few calories, Roosevelt Community Pool provides options.
This swim maintenance program is geared to swimmers ages 11-18. This is a great way for swim team athletes to get in shape for their season or to maintain during the off-season.
Open swim session includes shallow end with basketball hoop, lap lanes, deep water swim section, and one diving board open.
To familiarize young children (from ages 6 months to 3 years) to the water and prepare them to learn to swim in the American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics or Learn-to-Swim courses.

Baby classes are a collection of courses focused on the essential topics you need to know as a parent.
Parent only classes are designed to meet the needs of today’s families. Our classes provide community and a shared learning experience for moms, dads, and those who care for children.
Mixed-age classes are designed for children ranging in age from birth up to kindergarten.
What is Playtime? Art exploration, books, stories, active play, songs, rhymes and lots of fun! Playtime will enhance small and large motor skills, self-esteem and social skills, plus there are new friends for everyone!
ECFE classes during the preschool years strengthen parent-child interactions while promoting children’s social, emotional, and language development.
Anoka-Hennepin Community Education offers preschool classes, which prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. Our preschool curriculum is closely aligned with the Anoka-Hennepin Schools kindergarten curriculum.

Summer 2022 and the 2022-23 School Year Registration
Current A+ families may register for both seasons starting March 1.
New families may register for both seasons beginning March 21. (Contracts received before March 21 will be removed and families will need to re-register after March 21.)
Summer 2022 registration ends on May 20 at 8 pm.
Registrations will be reviewed in the order that they were received by our online system, and could take up to 5 business days to process.
In order for a registration to be processed, all Community Education program balances must be paid in full. Accounts with a balance overdue will not be processed.
Adventures Plus school-age child care is available for all families enrolled in the Anoka-Hennepin School District. The program provides before- and after-school care at all elementary schools during the school year, and all-day care during the summer months at select school sites for students entering kindergarten – grade six in the upcoming school year.
Adventures Plus also offers all-day child care infused with the Anoka-Hennepin Schools Preschool curriculum for four-year-old preschool children at Brookside and Eisenhower Elementary Schools. Learn more about School-year Adventures Bound.

Adventures Plus school-age care requires a non-refundable registration fee of $30/child (not to exceed $60/family), added to your initial invoice (or charged at the time of withdrawal prior to the program start date.)

**Non-school day registration for the 2022-23 school year will open on September 1 at 8 am for all families with an approved Adventures Plus contract. **
Any schedule changes are subject to a $25 schedule change fee per contract.
Child care will be provided at your child’s school. (Students attending Evergreen Park may enroll in the Adventures Plus school-age care program at Monroe Elementary. Transportation is provided to Evergreen, with drop-off and pick-up at Monroe)
Registrations are based on the current draft of the district calendar. If at any point the district calendar changes, care options and availability are subject to change as well.
2022 summer child care rates
Summer rates include breakfast, lunch, snack, field trips/events included in the program.
Adventures Plus school-age care requires a non-refundable registration fee of $30 per child, added to your initial invoice (or charged at the time of withdrawal prior to the program start date.)
Part-time rate: $47 per day/per child. (15-35 days)
Full-time rate: $40 per day/per child. (36-51 days)
All rates are subject to change.
Summer schedule changes must be made by May 20, 2022 for the entire summer – June through August (this includes adding and/or dropping days. After May 20, 2022 no schedule changes will be accepted and families will be billed for the days registered regardless of attendance.)
