Cheaha Mountain Trail
Cheaha Mountain is the highest point in Alabama, and the Cheaha Mountain Trail is a challenging but rewarding hike to the summit. The trail is 5.5 miles round-trip and gains 1,200 feet in elevation, but the views from the top are worth the effort.
I hiked the Cheaha Mountain Trail on a clear day, and I was able to see for miles in every direction. I could see the Talladega National Forest stretching out before me, and I could even see the Birmingham skyline in the distance.

Little River Canyon National Preserve
Little River Canyon National Preserve is home to some of the most beautiful hiking trails in Alabama. The preserve is located in the northeastern part of the state, and it is home to a variety of natural features, including waterfalls, cliffs, and canyons.
I hiked the Little River Canyon Rim Trail, which is a 5-mile loop trail that follows the rim of the canyon. The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow, and it offers stunning views of the canyon and the surrounding mountains.

I started my hike at the Hurricane Creek Trailhead, and I immediately began climbing uphill. The trail is steep in places, but it is well-maintained and easy to follow.
After about a mile, I reached the top of the mountain and was rewarded with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. I could see for miles in every direction, and I could even see the Talladega National Forest in the distance.

The trail gradually descends from the top of the mountain, and it eventually leads to Hurricane Creek. I crossed the creek on a footbridge and continued hiking along the trail.
The trail eventually loops back to the Hurricane Creek Trailhead. I completed the hike in about 3 hours, and I was glad I had taken the time to hike the Hurricane Creek Trail.
