Kalalau Trail

The Kalalau Trail is one of the most iconic hikes in Hawaii, and for good reason․ This 11-mile trail winds along the rugged Nā Pali Coast, offering breathtaking views of towering sea cliffs, lush valleys, and cascading waterfalls․ I hiked the Kalalau Trail a few years ago with my friend Sarah, and it was an experience I’ll never forget․

We started our hike early in the morning, and the trail was relatively easy at first․ We hiked through a lush forest, and the air was filled with the sound of birdsong․ As we got closer to the coast, the trail became more challenging, and we had to scramble over rocks and cross streams․ But it was all worth it when we finally reached the first viewpoint․

Kalalau Beach is a beautiful white-sand beach, and it’s the perfect place to relax and enjoy the scenery․ We spent the rest of the day swimming, sunbathing, and exploring the beach․ It was the perfect ending to a perfect hike․

Waimea Canyon Trail

Waimea Canyon is known as the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” and for good reason․ This 10-mile-long canyon is a geological wonder, with colorful cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and lush vegetation․ I hiked the Waimea Canyon Trail a few years ago with my family, and it was an experience we’ll never forget․

The trail begins at Keʻe Beach, and it follows the Hanakāpīʻai Stream inland․ The trail is mostly flat, but there are a few short, steep sections․

After about 2 miles, you’ll reach Hanakāpīʻai Falls․ The falls are beautiful, and you can swim in the pool at the bottom․
