I can’t imagine living in Seattle and not taking advantage of the amazing hiking trails that are right in my backyard. I’ve hiked all over the world, but some of my favorite hikes are just a short drive from the city. Whether you’re looking for a challenging climb or a leisurely stroll, there’s a trail for everyone near Seattle.

Introduction

I’ve been hiking in the Seattle area for over 20 years, and I’ve never been disappointed. There are so many great trails to choose from, with something for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a challenging climb or a leisurely stroll, you’re sure to find the perfect trail for you.

One of my favorite things about hiking near Seattle is the diversity of the landscape. You can hike through old-growth forests, up to alpine lakes, and even to the top of a volcano. And because Seattle is located in a temperate climate, you can hike year-round.

If you’re new to hiking, I recommend starting with one of the easier trails, such as the Burke-Gilman Trail or the Discovery Park Loop Trail. These trails are relatively flat and well-maintained, making them perfect for beginners.

Once you’ve gotten a little bit of experience, you can start to explore some of the more challenging trails. Some of my favorite challenging hikes include Mount Si, Rattlesnake Ledge, and Mailbox Peak. These hikes are all strenuous, but they offer stunning views of the surrounding area.

No matter what your fitness level or experience, you’re sure to find the perfect hiking trail for you near Seattle. So get out there and explore!
