## What is the Scuba Diving Class at UF Called?
The scuba diving class at the University of Florida is called OCE 2360: Introduction to Scuba Diving. This course is offered through the Department of Environmental Protection and provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely scuba dive.
### Course Description
OCE 2360 is a three-credit course that covers the following topics:
History of scuba diving
Physics of scuba diving
Physiology of scuba diving
Scuba diving equipment
Scuba diving techniques
Scuba diving safety
### Course Format
The course is taught in a hybrid format, with both online and in-person components. The online portion of the course covers the theoretical aspects of scuba diving, while the in-person portion of the course provides students with hands-on experience in the pool and open water.
The in-person portion of the course is typically held on Saturdays at the UF Aquatic Facility. Students will complete four pool dives and two open water dives during the course.

There are no prerequisites for OCE 2360. However, students are encouraged to have a basic understanding of swimming and snorkeling before enrolling in the course.

The course fee for OCE 2360 is $392. This fee includes the cost of instruction, pool and open water dives, and scuba diving equipment rental.

Online lectures: Available 24/7 through Canvas
In-person pool dives: Saturdays, 8:00am-12:00pm
In-person open water dives: Saturdays, 1:00pm-5:00pm
