## How to Paraglide in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Paragliding is an essential skill in _The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild_. It allows you to soar through the air, traverse difficult terrain, and reach places that would otherwise be inaccessible.
### Getting Started
To begin paragliding, you will need to obtain the Paraglider. This item can be found in the Great Plateau, shortly after you leave the Shrine of Resurrection. Once you have the Paraglider, equip it by pressing the L button and selecting it from the inventory wheel.
### Controls
To paraglide, press and hold the B button. Link will automatically deploy the Paraglider and begin gliding. You can control Link’s direction by tilting the Left Joystick.
To ascend, press the A button. Link will flap his arms, gaining altitude. To descend, press the X button. Link will pull in his arms, losing altitude.
### Techniques
Gliding:
To glide effectively, you will need to find updrafts. These can be found near cliffs, trees, and other tall structures.
Once you find an updraft, circle around it to gain altitude.
You can also use the ZL button to activate Bullet Time, which slows down time and allows you to target specific updrafts.
Stalling:
To stall, press the Left Trigger while paragliding. This will cause Link to halt his forward momentum and descend more slowly.
Stalling is useful for precise landings and for avoiding obstacles.
Diving:
To dive, hold the Right Trigger while paragliding. This will cause Link to plunge downwards at high speed.
Diving is useful for quickly descending from high altitudes or for reaching distant locations.
### Tips
Use updrafts wisely: Updrafts are essential for staying airborne. Make sure to circle around them whenever possible to gain altitude.
Plan your landings: Before you land, make sure you have a clear path ahead of you. Landing in trees or on uneven terrain can cause damage to Link.
Upgrade your Paraglider: The Paraglider can be upgraded at certain locations throughout the game. Upgrading increases its durability and allows it to glide more efficiently.
Use the Paraglider to explore: The Paraglider opens up many new possibilities for exploration. Use it to reach hidden areas, climb mountains, and soar over vast expanses.
### Advanced Techniques
Thermal Lift:
Thermal lifts are invisible updrafts that rise from the ground. They can be found in open areas, such as fields and meadows.
To find a thermal lift, look for swirling birds or dust particles.
Once you find a thermal lift, circle around it to gain altitude.
Wind Bombing:
Wind Bombing is a technique that allows you to use the Paraglider to propel yourself forward at high speeds.
To perform a Wind Bomb, first place a Remote Bomb on the ground. Then, stand in front of the bomb and deploy the Paraglider.
When the bomb explodes, it will launch Link forward with great force.
Wind Bombing can be used to quickly traverse large distances or to reach difficult-to-reach areas.
### Safety Precautions
Avoid flying at night: It is more difficult to see at night, and you may not be able to spot obstacles in your path.
Be aware of wind conditions: Strong winds can make it difficult to control the Paraglider. Avoid flying in windy conditions unless you are experienced.
Use the Stasis rune to stabilize yourself: If you are flying in strong winds, you can use the Stasis rune to stabilize yourself and prevent the wind from blowing you off course.
