## How to Build a Bungee Jump Model

### Materials

– Cardboard
– Scissors
– Tape
– Rubber bands
– String
– Ruler
– Marker

### Instructions

1. **Cut out the cardboard base.** The base will be the platform that the bungee jumper jumps from. Cut out a rectangle of cardboard that is about 12 inches long and 8 inches wide.
2. **Cut out the bungee jumper.** The bungee jumper will be a small figure that you cut out of cardboard. Cut out a rectangle of cardboard that is about 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. Draw a head, arms, and legs on the cardboard.
3. **Attach the bungee jumper to the base.** Use a rubber band to attach the bungee jumper to the base. The rubber band should be about 6 inches long.
4. **Tie the string to the bungee jumper.** Cut a piece of string that is about 18 inches long. Tie one end of the string to the bungee jumper’s head.
5. **Attach the other end of the string to the base.** Use a rubber band to attach the other end of the string to the base. The rubber band should be about 12 inches long.
6. **Test your bungee jump model.** Pull the bungee jumper up to the top of the base. Let go of the bungee jumper and watch it jump down.
