Arrival and Preparation

When I arrived at the Ocoee River rafting outpost, I was greeted by a friendly staff who helped me get checked in and fitted for my life jacket and helmet. I also had the option to rent a wetsuit, which I decided to do since the water was still a bit cold. Once I was all geared up, I met my guide, John, and the rest of my rafting group. John gave us a safety briefing and went over the commands we would be using on the river. He also showed us how to paddle and how to maneuver the raft through the rapids;

After the safety briefing, we loaded into the raft and pushed off from the shore. I was immediately impressed by the beauty of the Ocoee River.
