Truly Unforgettable!

I honestly never thought I’d be able to do this but although I kept putting it off, this time I decided not to think about it until it was too late when I was about to be pushed off the platform! The initial tipping towards the ground was petrifying but as soon as this split second passed, it was the most unreal feeling of being able to almost fly – would recommend for even the most scared as I promise it is the best story to tell, so go smash it everybody else!

Unforgettable Experience

I went on this bungee jump with my partner and it was amazing! We were both so nervous at first but as soon as we jumped, we felt like we were flying! It was always on our bucket list to do this experience and I am so glad we finally did it. What an unforgettable experience! Would 100% recommend. Thank you for this amazing day!

Experience of a lifetime!

The bungee jumping team were so friendly and reassuring throughout the whole experience which helped calm my nerves. I tried not to think to much about the jump until we were going up in the cage when it was finally became real. The views were amazing when I had the courage to actually open my eyes. This was an unforgettable experience.

Brighton Bungee Jump

I have always told myself I would never be able to do a bungee jump. However, when the opportunity came about I felt I couldn’t say no. This was one of the most daring things I have ever done, but looking back now I am soo glad I did it. It was such an amazing feeling and I will definitely be doing one again- maybe with my eyes open next time.

Rebecca Wilkinson – 07/09/2017

Done the bungee jump this summer with one of my dear friends, possibly as crazy as I am just as a farewell London day out! Looking back now, I guess living for 3 months in the country side (even if next to one of the most spectacular beaches in the country) was a little crazier decision, so back to city life now. The day was a complete success: waking up in the morning after a late shift and a little after work session, a relatively short train journey and taxi to the lake, the jump, the company I had. All was perfect! Staff on the day were really nice and friendly and made the whole experience look like a very easy and accesible thing to do. The jump was absolutely amazing: strapped to a crazy girl, up on a crane, lifted 150ft over the lake and after the plunge! The feeling is mind blowing. I was laughing like a maniac all the way down, then back up, and down again! It was awesome! All I could say when we made it safely down was: “I want back again. “. Poor girl was half deaf from my laughter, but she loved every second of the experience! The location is quite pretty and we took the oportunity to have our packed lunches by the lake in a hidden little spot, soaked it with cider (bare in mind, it is a good walk to find booze around there), later soaked with rain so my waterproofs came in handy, though quite tricky to share! After the rain finally chased us away from the lake we made it in to town and started what proved to be a very tricky pub crawl: not too many nice pubs around (unless you’re 18 and like music banging in your ears) so after a few attempts (I do have to say we did find one with a pretty beer garden) we were headed back to London and to my old local on Connaught Street! The day was a real success; it had everything a bloke would want: a little adrenaline rush, a girl, and the pub crawl! Looking forward for the next jump, and I am quite disapointed with myself for missing the 300ft one! Sometimes work does get in the way of having fun! But highly recomended experience! Can make a very good day of it if planned right! And for a tandem jump: cheap as chips! Go for it!

My best friend and I did this to celebrate my 20th birthday. the staff were all really friendly and the jump itself was as fun as it was scary! We both agree we want to jump again, but separately for more of a buzz!

Staff Review: Tandem Bungee Jump

Every year at Experience Days when a new set of interns start, there is a tradition of sending them up in a 160ft crane to get pushed off!

When Kaia and I found out that we had been booked in to complete our first ever bungee jump experience, we were terrified and excited, but we knew that we couldn’t back out.

Approaching Brighton Marina where the bungee jump was taking place, I could see the crane a mile off. At that moment, I decided against watching the people as they were pushed out otherwise I would have turned the car round and gone straight home! It was a lovely clear day, and I couldn’t wait to see the views from the top of the platform as it looked over the beautiful seafront. There was plenty of parking either in the Brighton Marina car park or Asda for free, which is a short walk from the base.

I met Kaia and Robb at the base, which had a great atmosphere. I assumed they were playing music to try and block out the screams of those bungee jumping. There were many people spectating and cheering, which was definitely the encouragement I needed. I was also greeted by the friendly team at UK Bungee Club, and after signing my life away and stepping onto the scales to ensure they were using the correct rope for our bungee jump, it was time to sit in the queue for our turn.

Soon, it was our turn for the team to secure the rope cords to our ankles. I nervously stood up, and we hopped over to the cage that was about to take us up the crane. After a few photos from the professional photographer, we went up 160ft where we were able to see some incredible views of Brighton. I tried not to think about the bungee jump, but it was difficult when I was backwards, gripping onto Kaia and my feet were half way over the edge, it all become real and it was about to happen.

We were in the cage with one instructor, who continuously made sure we were alright, and then shouted ‘3… 2… 1!’ and pushed us off the edge. We were FLYING! For the moments my eyes were actually open, the views were amazing. It took my breath away; I couldn’t even scream. As for Kaia, she nearly burst my ear drums! Just as I felt like we were done, we went flying back up again. It felt like we did it all over again about 3 times. It was exhilarating, and I couldn’t stop shaking for about 30 minutes after the jump from all the adrenaline.

It was time to be brought back to solid ground, which was the moment I was waiting for when we were up in the cage. Kaia and I laid on the soft cushioning on the floor for a while to catch our breath and take in what had just happened. It was a surreal experience, and it should be on everyone’s bucket list as I highly recommend it!

We got ourselves some printed photos, and a video which you can opt in for when you arrive for an additional cost. This was so I could show of to my family that I actually did it! A huge thank you to UK Bungee Club for taking care of myself and Kaia. It was an amazing experience and certainly one I will never forget.

Expert Interview With UK Bungee Club

vineyard-winery

We thought it was about time to have a chat with John, owner and founder of UK Bungee Club and one our very best experience providers. The level of professionalism and commitment to customer safety that the club projects makes it easy to understand why they are the market leader in bungee jumps. Here at Experience Days, many of our team have been lucky enough to jump and it is truly something we will never forget (you can see our jumps here). Although nerve wracking and nail bitingly scary, the rush of adrenaline is worth the anticipation and will leave you grinning ear-to-ear as you land back in reality. So, if you’ve been thinking about taking a step on the wild side and taking part in a bungee jump, have a read to find out a bit more about the adventure…

bungee-2bungee-1

Q: Please could you tell us a bit about the history of UK Bungee and what inspired you to join the bungee jumping industry?

A: Bungee first started on 1/4/79 in Bristol when 4 members of the dangerous sports club jumped from the Clifton suspension bridge in Bristol. What most people don’t know is that Bungee jumping is a British invention. I jumped in Australia in 1991 and was hooked. Coming back to the UK The UK Bungee Club had just started operations. I became a Roadie and worked for the club more or less every weekend during the summer of 1992 completing all my exams to become a site controller. By 1993 the bubble had burst with only a handful of operations left in the UK. We decided to put a 300ft Crane next to the Thames in Battersea and we have never looked back. Today we offer 10 locations nationwide including Belfast at heights of 150ft, 300ft and 400ft plus the only Bridge in the UK plus the world’s only indoor Bungee. Overseas operations have included Moscow, Abu Dhabi, Thailand, Brazil, Australia and South Africa to name but a few. The UK Bungee Club continues to be market leader in the UK for Bungee jumping and safety consultation with the health and safety executive.

Q: How has the bungee industry or customers’ understanding of bungee changed over the years?

A: In the early days people were naturally scared of the product which was kind of the point. People were sceptical of the safety approach and the public needed educating. We were regularly inspected by local councils which we welcomed to spread the word regarding safety and that our operations were professional and run with integrity. Bungee is now recognised as a highly safe activity run by professionals. British health and safety is the best in the world and so by its very nature the attention to safety has been very high from inception back in 1992 when the company started. The general public know that with 25 years’ experience we are the company to jump with.

Q: What’s the most frequently asked question by customers?

A: Believe it not have you killed anybody and will I die. Thankfully the answer is no to both of these.

Q: What’s next for the Bungee Industry in the UK? Any exciting news to share with us?

A: We are looking at our 25 year anniversary next year on the 16th July so potentially we are looking at a 400ft Crane jump at Wembley Stadium. Look out for information on the Experience Days website!

Thanks UK Bungee Club for letting us know a bit more about your story. You can buy a bungee jump here which is available from a number of different locations. If you haven’t got the courage to jump on your own, jump with a friend!

Facing fears by Bungee Jumping

Hands were shaking uncontrollably. My heart was throbbing rapidly. Safety checks performed. Harness snugged around my body. Even the pep talk by the bungee jumping instructor couldn’t scare away my fears. With both legs bound together, I started walking toward the edge like a penguin.

I was at the ledge when the jump instructor gave his final set of instructions. The countdown started… “1…2…3…Jump!” My heart felt like it was going to come out of my throat. I wanted to turn back, but didn’t. Without wasting a second more, I looked at the yellow signboard at the far end of the platform for final confirmation. With arms stretched out, I leaned forward and JUMPED!

My free-fall had taken me to a different world, where nothing was stable or familiar. Wind caressed my tresses at jet speed. My anxieties had vanished into the thin air. I surrendered myself to the surroundings instead of controlling them—and that was the moment when I started to enjoy Bungee Jumping. I was free falling–head down, feet up! The blood was rushing to my head. I got the roller-coaster feeling in my stomach. I screamed with excitement. Suddenly, I was pulled up by the bungee. I went to the top again and the free-fall continued. This process occurred twice, albeit with lesser intensity as compared to the initial jump.
